Wakonda Hills subdivision sits north of Highway 25 and the town of Monument Colorado real estate. If you take Beacon Lite Road and head north, it is on your left. Homes sit on one to two acres of flat land and scrub oak. Building commenced in the 1970's and continued until the 1990's. To date, only resale homes are available as all lots have been sold. PALMER LAKE RECREATION AREA
This recreation area is 36 miles and sits at the foot of Ben Lomand Mountain in Palmer Lake. There is a lake and regional tral in the area. The Santa Fe Regional Trail runs north/south of the lake. The Palmer Divide Regional Trail goes east/west and will eventually link with the Homestead Ranch Regional Park and Black Forest Regional Park.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife stocks the lake with rainbow trout as long as the water levels are up. Don't forget to bring your fishing license. If you are under 16, you dont need a license and you can participate in the yearly fishing tournament put on by the division of wildlife. Kids get 3 hours to fish and then receive prizes for amount of fish and types of unusual fish. They also are entered into a raffle and have the chance to receive fishing gear.
