In 1977, developers, Lew Christensen and John Venezia pieced together nearly 10,000 acres, former cattle ranches owned by R.E. Johnson and Fred and Macelle Wolf, to create the original plan for Briargate. Eventually, the project was scaled back and half the property was spun off into smaller subdivision. Those include Pine Creek, Briargate Station, Sable Chase, and Sagewood. Today, Briargate is almost 9,500 acres.

Briargate offers numerous parks and an inter-linking trail system. You will also see spectacular views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range.
